2000年錯體一澳元硬幣　現至少價值1000澳元

澳洲一批在2000年鑄造、面值一澳元的硬幣，因為一個鑄造錯誤而升值千倍。

錯體硬幣是在「女王頭」圖案那邊出事，比正常的同面額硬幣多了一條幣邊，因而出現雙鑲邊。有錢幣網誌指鑄幣廠應是錯誤混用了一元及一毫的「女王頭」模具去鑄造該批硬幣，由於一毫的「女皇頭」模具較小，故導致一元硬幣多了一條邊。

網誌指出，錯體硬幣價值至少1000澳元（約2萬3560元台幣），甚至可達3000澳元（約7萬680元台幣），有錯體硬幣在拍賣網站上開價更高達8000澳元（約18萬8480元台幣）。

網誌另指，錯體硬幣當年是送到珀斯（Perth）投入使用，不過在3年後才有人發現硬幣錯體。

Sometimes the coins we mint aren’t quite what you expect to find in your change.
This is an example of a minting error known as a bottle top. This one surprisingly
is also a double header.

A bottle top begins as a brockage. If the press doesn’t stop, several blanks
will land in the collar and continually be pressed. There is no space for the
excess metal so it is pushed around the die, resulting in a bottle top effect.
